We use the latest publishing software to design books, and can both source and commission artists or photographers to illustrate them. We send you pdf proofs at each stage of the design process. Finally, we produce repro quality PDF files for uploading to any of the usual self-publishing services. This means you can use the solution of your choice with regards to the cost of editing, printing and marketing, without being limited by their boilerplate design offerings. So if you have found a great deal at another site like selfpublishing.com, lulu, iUniverse or booksjustbooks, etc, we slot right in to their requirements for print-ready material to give your book a special look and appeal.

Because this is a custom product the price and process involved depends somewhat on the look and feel of the book itself. Our prices start where some off-the-shelf solutions leave off (£280/$399 gets you a basic children’s book design on lulu.com for up to 75 pages). We will agree a fee for each stage of the design process that is payable step-by-step via PayPal. At any stage we will make available to you our source files (usually in Adobe InDesign format), an exported text file containing your latest edit of the text, and a pdf of the book. Because the artist or artists are a third party, their fees are payable in full in advance, but should you not be happy with their work an agreed rejection fee will be given to them and the balance returned or put towards an alternative.

Cover design is also a service we can supply, optionally using the same artist or photographer as with the pages of the book.
